What we’re about
Dear Green Planet is a not-for-profit social enterprise stocking a range of sustainable eco-friendly products, from wholefoods to natural personal care and household products.
Why bother coming to us?
Quite simply, many of the high Street products we use contain chemicals and other additives that harm us and the environment. The food we eat tends to be heavily processed with little nutritional value. As such, many of the health problems we see in today’s society can be attributed to a poor diet.
DGP also runs a community shop on behalf of The Space, offering surplus supermaket produce to the local community for a small donation.
Do drop by and see what we have to offer. Opening times below.
The shop has now integrated within the cafe area of The Space and is now effectively become part of the Space. This represents phase one of a restructuring program. Phase two will involve a relaunch of the business and a change of name, most likely Dear Green Market. These changes will reflect the aims of the business more accurately and will form part of a strategy to reach out to the local community.
The Space has been covered in an Evening Times feature on 27 May. Shop manager and director Barry Dalgleish is featured in a couple of photos based in and outside the shop.
Dear Green Planet is planning to move beyond its first year of operation. We are in the process of setting up a Board. If you think you might be intersted in getting involved with the project and are committed to sustainability, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
